Setting an authentication token

Authentication tokens can be set on devices where a user login is not required or is unnecessary. For example, a dash board display screen.

It is not recommended to use Token Authentication for normal user access to the web services.

It is good practice is also to not set a password for users that are used with Authentication tokens. Users without passwords will not be able to login using a password and only an authentication token will work.

Setting an authentication token

To set an authentication token you must first login as a user in the ADMIN group. On the device:

  1. Login as normal.
  2. Select Auth Token from the menu.
  3. From the Authorise Terminal page.
    • Select the user to be authorised from user drop down box.
    • Set the type to User
    • enter your password in the password box and press ok.

You will be logged out and the authorised user will be logged in.
