Installing and Trusting a Root CA on iOS

To install and trust a Root CA (Certificate Authority) on an iPhone, you must download the .crt or .pem certificate file to your device, install it via the Settings app, and manually enable full SSL trust.

Step 1: Download the Certificate

* Open the certificate download link or your email attachment using the built-in Safari browser (avoid using Chrome or other browsers for this step). * When prompted, tap Allow to download the configuration profile, then tap Close.

Step 2: Install the Profile

# Open the Settings app. # Tap Profile Downloaded (located right below your Apple Account name near the top). # Tap Install in the top right corner. # Enter your device passcode. # Review the warning screen and tap Install again to confirm.

Step 3: Enable Full Trust

# Return to the main Settings menu. # Navigate to General > About. # Scroll to the bottom and tap Certificate Trust Settings. # Under the Enable full trust for root certificates section, toggle the switch ON for your newly installed Root CA, and tap Continue.
